Terms of Service

By accessing or using Long Island Community ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Platform. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

If you are using the Platform on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

•Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials

•All activities that occur under your account

•Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You may not create accounts for others without their permission, use false information, or create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions.

You retain ownership of content you post on the Platform. By posting content, you grant Long Island Community a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with operating the Platform.

You are solely responsible for your content. You agree not to post content that:

•Is false, misleading, or deceptive

•Infringes on any third party's intellectual property rights

•Contains personal information of others without their consent

•Is spam, advertising, or promotional material without authorization

•Violates any applicable law or regulation

•Is harmful, abusive, harassing, or discriminatory

You agree not to:

•Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose

•Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform

•Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to collect data from the Platform

•Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure

•Impersonate any person or entity

•Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits others' use of the Platform

•Use the Platform to send unsolicited communications

•Post content that promotes illegal activities

Business owners who list their businesses on the Platform agree to:

•Provide accurate and up-to-date business information

•Respond to customer reviews in a professional manner

•Comply with all applicable business licensing and regulations

•Not engage in deceptive practices or false advertising

We reserve the right to remove any business listing that violates these Terms or our community guidelines.

Certain features require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to:

•Pay all fees associated with your chosen plan

•Provide accurate billing information

•Authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds are provided at our discretion and in accordance with applicable law.

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your payment card information.

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We do not warrant that:

•The Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free

•Content posted by users is accurate or reliable

•The Platform is free of viruses or other harmful components

We are not responsible for the accuracy of business listings, user reviews, or any other user-generated content.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LONG ISLAND COMMUNITY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Certain provisions of these Terms will survive termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Nassau County, New York.
